Hi there! I've been a member of the Focus Foundation for two years now, and they have been a huge help in boosting my confidence and managing my anxiety. Thanks to them, I stay calm and feel much more at ease. They've even taken me on holiday and helped me find a part-time job.
With their daily support, I can enjoy a social life and get help around the house, which has made me much more independent. Focus has also been a lifeline for my mum; she feels more confident living her own life, knowing I'm in good hands with the support staff.
My senior support worker, Laura Hall, helps me with various tasks and even takes me to and from work. If any problems come up, I always feel confident that a member of the team will be there for me.

Hi, I'm Dave! I've been with The Focus Foundation since the very beginning, and they've been amazing in helping me get out and socialize. One of my favourite activities is going to car shows at Tatton Park. I even got to see Jaguars at the Lymm show, just like the ones my dad used to own.
I've also had a blast on the Coronation Street tour with my friends from Focus. Plus, my support workers are always there for me, taking me to my hospital appointments twice a week and listening to any worries I have. They're really great!
The Care Team
A pillar of strength
Our exceptional care support team is the backbone of The Focus Foundation. They provide personalised, compassionate care that goes beyond basic needs. Our team members are trained to understand the unique challenges and opportunities that each individual faces, and they are dedicated to fostering independence and confidence in our members.
Personalised Care Plans
Each member receives a tailored care plan designed to meet their specific needs and goals. Our support workers collaborate closely with members and their families to create these plans, ensuring they are comprehensive and effective.
Skill Development
Our team helps members develop essential life skills, from cooking and cleaning to managing finances and navigating public transportation. This support is crucial in helping individuals gain confidence and independence in their daily lives.
Emotional and Social Support
Beyond practical assistance, our care support team provides emotional and social support. They build strong, trusting relationships with our members, offering a listening ear and a supportive presence. This holistic approach ensures that our members' emotional well-being is nurtured alongside their physical needs.

Our Philosophy
Living life to the fullest
Work and Education
Our members are encouraged to pursue their passions and interests, whether through employment, vocational training, or continuing education. Our team provides the necessary support to help them succeed, from job coaching to educational assistance.
Social & Recreational Activities
We believe that a fulfilling life includes rich social and recreational experiences. Our members participate in a variety of activities, from group outings and cultural events to sports and hobbies. These activities not only provide enjoyment but also help build social skills and friendships.
Community Involvement
Being part of a community is essential for a sense of belonging. Our members are active participants in the broader community, engaging in events and activities that bring people together. Our partnerships with organisations like the Friendship Circle ensure that our members have access to a wide range of social opportunities.
A Holistic Approach
Our holistic approach means we look at the whole person, addressing not just their physical needs but also their emotional, social, and spiritual well-being. We ensure that our members have the support they need to lead meaningful and satisfying lives.
Shabbat and Festivals
Religious and cultural traditions play an important role in the lives of many of our members. We provide opportunities to celebrate Shabbat and Jewish festivals in a way that is inclusive and respectful of all levels of observance. These celebrations are a time for joy, reflection, and community connection.
Family Support
We recognise the importance of family in the lives of our members. Our support extends to parents, carers, and siblings, providing them with the resources and assistance they need. We work in partnership with families to ensure that they have a voice in the care and support of their loved ones.

Don't just take our word for it
Our son Mark has been a member of the Focus Foundation since it opened.
Mark has made very significant progress in all aspects of his life. He lives independently and enjoys fantastic support from his amazing Support Workers.
He works three days a week at Heathlands and has developed wonderful relationships with both residents and colleagues.
Focus has really encouraged Mark to keep healthy through his main sporting love of cycling. His Support Workers have helped him to attend his regular training sessions, and The Special Olympics events where he has won a large number of gold medals.
He has become almost entirely independent, which was always our dream. Focus Support Workers often talk about going the extra mile for its members. Without a shadow of doubt, they do this as part of their nature.

The Focus Foundation has transformed my daughter, Joanna’s’ life and given me the knowledge she will be supported in the future. Their ethos is “we can do this” and with this attitude they can approach her needs and my expectations in the best possible way.
It seems to me that the" Mantra" of Focus is “we will do our best” and that is what is given. It makes sense that they gained an “OUTSTANDING” in their first inspection. We know each week she has support and if needed, so do I.

My son has a learning disability and autism. He has been supported by The Focus Foundation since it first opened.
He lives in his own property and The Focus Foundation provide daily 1-1 support, enabling him to live an independent life.
The charity organizes many group activities and holidays. He is supported by participating in activities close to his heart, going to the gym weekly and watching Bury FC.
The staff are all warm and friendly. They often go out of their way to help my son organise everyday tasks including shopping, daily meal preparation and help with medication.
They are a group of friendly, professional people who understand my son’s complex needs and as a parent I would not consider anyone else to provide this support.

We are so happy that Adam has moved over to the Focus Foundation, where he has settled in exceptionally well. He has taken on the role of activities organiser for the residents and has formed friendships with them all. He has a good relationship with his support workers, who fully understand him.
Even though it is a relatively new organisation the team from the top down have a wealth of experience, have been hand-picked and been working in the sector for a long period of time. This certainly shines through.
Thank you Focus for what you are doing for Adam and all your members.
